Wole Soyinka, Amosun and others grace OAU festival of Food and Identity

By Oludiran Olusola The Obafemi Awolowo University Ile organised the festival of food and identity 2018 edition . The  festival which it opening ceremony was graced by the Nobel Laurel Professor Wole Soyinka,  the Deputy Governor of Ogun State , the representative of the The President of Rwanda, Dr Mugashimana . In the words of the vice Chancellor of the school Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede while giving the his opening speech at the festival he said "  the  festival of food and identity  is aimed at the reinstatement of the relevance of the cultural value". Meanwhile , in the words of the deputy Governor of Ogun State who represented the Governor of the state Senator Ibikunle Amosun,  she said " agriculture is aimed at reducing the dangerous dependency on oil. Students, Residents of Ife deterred of movement because of flood.

Oludiran Olusola It was a bad Sunday for the residents of Ile Ife both the students of Obafemi Awolowo University and the indigenes of the town as massive flood deterred most people from gaining access to their houses while some could not sleep in their different destinations because of the overwhelming flood which almost took over the whole town. The heavy downpour which started around 11am on Sunday 29th July  2018  and ended around 5pm in the evening of the Same day did not make a blossom day for the residents of places like Mayfair,  Asherifa,  Omole Estate,  Ibadan road and other significant places in Ile Ife When speaking with one of correspondent, Yetunde a part three student of Economics who resides in Mayfair but  was stuck by the flood from getting to her residence lamented that " This is becoming a repeated occurrence,  as similar hitch happened last year although I was staying on campus then but my friend was affected,  so I got to ...
