The  management of Obafemi Awolowo University has reacted to the recent non accreditation of some courses in the school for the programme session of 2018/2019 which has caused a lot of confusion to the students and aspirants who are anticipating to study  them.

The response was confirmed in the special release by the management of the school on Monday 6th, August 2018 , according to the release in which the management of the school confirms its  awareness of the latest burning issues of non accreditation of some courses like Law,  Botany,  Dentistry, Family Nutrition and Fine and applied art.

According to the statement which states that "There are 106 programmes in the University of which the five mentioned above have issues with accreditation. Although all these programmes actually had interim status during the last exercise, they were denied accreditation because of the existing NUC regulation which does not allow for back to back interim status."

In respect of this,  the management of the school gives her promissory statement to  sort the issue out before the end November which another accreditation will take place.
"...The University Management is working assiduously to address the issues raised by the NUC. It therefore has no doubt that the affected programmes will be restored hopefully in the forthcoming accreditation exercise slated for November, 2018."

While speaking with a law student of the school whose faculty happened to be affected Adebayo Adebisi (Oris) he said " It is true that the management will do something about it but my concern is what will be the fate of the aspiring students who are supposed to come in since the they are to conduct Post Utme next month... That's my major concern
"

Moreover,  when the President of Botany Department  Gboyega Damilola Imole was contacted he said " I am so unhappy that our department was not accredited,  although I believe the department was not accredited based on false allegations because we have enough and sufficient facilities, however I have made my consultation and I  was made to know that the students don't have any problem but the aspirants I don't know their fate.

However,  with the current situation , the fate of the  aspiring students of the affected departments and courses is still unknown.

Research has made it known that this is the third time the Faculty of law of the school will not be accredited as it happened in 1998,  2002 and 2018 respectively.
