FASA president, VP , Treasurer, DOS, suspended others sanctioned

The Faculty of Arts Students Representative Council has unanimously suspended the some members of the executive council of the association and have others sanctioned.

The action was meted out to the concerned executive members at the parliamentary sitting which held on Thursday 30th October, 2018 .

The concerned executive members who were suspended for two weeks include The President of the Association Ayodeji Isaiah, The vice President Oni Adeola,  The Treasurer Oke Ademola and The Director of Socials Lawal Idris  and The General Secretary Ajifowoke Olamide  for their refusal to make themselves available for the parliamentary sitting which they were invited to, due to that they were instructed to avail themselves for investigation on how the financial matters of the association is being run with the threat to have their eportal page blocked through the Division of students Affairs if they fail to adhere to the given order.

In respect of that, the Speaker Adewale Ayobami has been asked to act as the president of the faculty while the president will be on suspension .

Meanwhile the other executive members like the Financial Secretary, General Secretary and Sports Director were instructed to write apology letters to the house and to all departments in the Faculty of Arts as their punishment.

However,  when the President of The Faculty of Arts Ayodeji Isaiah and the vice President  Oni Adeola were contacted,  both of them denied the awareness of such meeting as they claimed they were not properly informed about the meeting as the legislative arm claimed.

When quizzed about the effect of the suspension,  the vice of the association said " I have not been given any letter indicating that I have been suspended and as such I am not aware of the suspension yet".

It will be recalled that the  immediate past President of the Association was also impeached for financial misappropriation amongst other allegations .

From the reaction of the students of the faculty of Arts,  a student who identified himself as Ayoola Adedayo from the department linguistic and African Languages, he said " the executive members deserved their punishment, because they need to be accountable and responsible in carrying out their duties .
