POLITICAL HALLELUJAHism & POLITICAL AMENism by Dunnex
( As related with Peter Ayodele Fayose, The governor of Ekiti State).

With due respects to Christianity as a body, I have chosen to address the title of this piece by common terms in Christianity ; hallelujah & amen, since majority of the Ekiti's are very conversant with this words and it's in-depth meanings and respective importance in the christiandom.
The former(hallelujah) can be properly defined as a particular gesture made by christians during worship, praises & other church activities, this requires the raising of hands far above the head in a flap-like manner.
While, The latter(amen) can be said as a verbal expression which signifies the end of a prayer. Hebrew even has it that Amen means 'So be it'.i.e Amen signifies the agreement to the prayer and it shows how important and effective it is to a prayerful Christian.
NB: hallelujah is a very apparent gesture because of the hands movement which makes it easy for people at long distance to notice an hallelujah chanter. WHILE Amen is a slightly unnoticeable expression which can only be noticed when in close proximity with the Amen sayer.
But despite the facts of this two illustrations, the latter still remains more effective & important to a sincere Christian.
**in Relation with Ekiti State Governor**
Any logically-sound & rational mind would astutely agree & accede with me that Ekiti State Governor, Peter Ayodele Fayose is more of a political HALLELUJAHist than a political AMENist. I have more than a million facts to prove this but I will just mention but an important few.
Over time, Fayose has proven to be a man who derives his actions out of the immediate instances & emerging circumstances which has craved him the fallacious name 'people's governor'. It should be known that immediate & swift reactions to urgent situations are not bad but it becomes bad and even evil when it is done at the detriment of the People to gain an unexisting public interest & acceptance which led me to my hilarious title.
Recently, Fayose has been in the centre of the media for various news, spanning from destructive criticism of the president, issues with EFCC over illegal dealings, unprecedented solidarity with the IPOB & lots of other ludicrous achievements which a lot of Nigerians have been busy hailing & appreciating him for. Many a people have hastily generalised him as a ' Messiah' with little importance paid to the voices of those who voted him into power.
Fayose has been so clever & tactical into convincing & confusing most Nigerians including Ekiti citizens that he is a concerned & accountable leader but being restricted by the underfunding of the Federal government & at times blames the past administration for his failure to perform his constitutional duties.
He appeals to his workers & the citizens that the state is running on a deficit budget so they have to bear with him. In a rational state, it is understandable to agree with him BUT it becomes irrational when the same Man that claims there is no money in the state is seen spending lavishly and stupendously on irrelevances.
After failing to renovate the public schools in Ekiti & pay the teachers salary, He was still able to compensate a PRIVATE school student for mere achievements by giving a total cash of 2.5million Naira, including the teacher & the lesson teacher collecting 500,000 Naira respectively. As usual, he received appreciations from different ignorant quarters. In my usual habit, I immediately sought to know what led to the compensation.
Then I found this on EKTV, he was a guest at the last concluded EKSU convocation ceremony & he was also to give a speech which relates with the educational development of the state. After reading an endless speech of boredom, he resulted to the method of HALLELUJAHism, that was when he announced the boy would be compensated with such a huge amount, after receiving series of ovations from the audience , in his bid to get more, he announced the teacher would also be compensated, then the ovation kept coming,I laughed when he offered to compensate the home teacher as well.
All this done with sincerity is commendable but it becomes condemnable when I realised the pity & pathetic conditions of public educational institutions in the state. When schools along irona road and some other places have no roofs, when the classes that were built donkey years ago are gradually dilapitating. I wondered how much that money would have helped improved the education & welfare of children attending public schools.
The same man who claims there is no room to employ intelligent & capable undergraduates from his state was capable of employing someone because he requested to take a picture with him, I guess you're thinking what am thinking. He understands how that would increase his publicity in the media.-political HALLELUJAHism
Have you ever wondered why he was so enthusiastic to attend Nnmadi kanu's trial? . It was not actually because he liked justice since his emergence also a product of injustice but because of his crave for gaining cheap popularity & recognition, he knows his appearance would gain him another spot in the media- political HALLELUJAHism.
Have you ever wondered why the #istandwithnigeria protest organisers rejected his participation in the event? Yes, because they were logically sound & knowledgeable of the wrong image he has painted for Nigerians.
Most recently, I was surprised when I read in the news that Ekiti State government has averted the burial of an Ekiti born nollywood actress, Moji olaiya. According to the source, she was meant to be buried in canada within few hours after her death in accordance with the Islamic law. With all due respect to the family of the deceased, it was funny that Moji olaiya is happens to be an Ekiti, someone we barely know, only God knows how she has used her position to impact in lives of Ekiti youths, I even doubt if Fayose has any relationship with the deceased.
After hours of soaring publicity of her death, Fayose in his usual manners swerved into his actions of claiming easy victories & undeserved glories, knowing it was going to strengthen his erroneous position in the Nigerian media. He opted to foot the bill of the burial after spending lavishly at the Rtd. Gen Adebayo's burial. If statistics are to be followed, I think the cost of transporting a dead body from a foreign country to the state & organising a befitting burial would run into a fortune for the state.
After disobeying the Islam rules of burial, he his also putting the little finance of Ekiti State at a ransom for accepting a role he wasn't invited for. Why spend on the dead when we still have people that are living but about to give up on life.
Conclusively, in order to officially make Ekiti State his footstool, he initiated a ridiculous movement tagged ' oshoko mass movement' which centralises on bringing contestants for consequent elections in the state. That was all our Governor could think when we have people that are dying, why not create an 'Ekiti mass movement'... -political HALLELUYAHism.
Assuming all the expenses spent on unnecessary quarters were properly used, Ekiti workers would have a different story to say, students & pupils would be eager to learn, graduates would be the happiest event I wouldn't have to write this...
To be continued.....
