Well fed slaves or free hungry men by Oludiran Olusola(cyrus)

WELL FED SLAVES OR FREE HUNGRY MEN?
Twisting and ruminating over the issues of life .it has always been making me feel like there are many unanswered questions in the world, but  how do we perceive this incorrigible questions of society.                                                                                                                       One of the major clamors and agitations of  the world is freedom, even those who claim  to have freedom still want it absolutely, and those who are enslaved no longer want to be under bondage any more. But  my opinion to these questions  unanimously, questions these agitations.
According to Beautiful Nubia in one of his songs, ” a country that cannot feed itself will always remain subservient to others”. Looking at Africa, generally, or making Nigeria as means of contact, We have always been boasting of a free country and a democracy { which we are  celebrating today}.
Although, Democracy itself symbolizes self government, freedom of citizens, in fact, perfect execution of fundamental human right which many a citizen is always quoting, to attest to the acclaimed freedom we have what a privilege!
Nevertheless, we need to need to know that on many instances that we are being held unto ransom because of the so called freedom. Imagine a free man that cannot cater for his needs talkless of his family’s , his children cannot look up to him for any “goody” neither can his wife find him responsible but he continues claiming freedom . What a wretched freedom it is!
It is not even funny that even the modern prisoners and slaves are eating three square meal satisfactorily but the free man on the street is starving and always in short of social amenities, how do  we  judge this?
My opinion is not for condemnation of  democracy, but to instigate  normalcy in our self acclaimed democracy , more so, to retake our missteps in it so that we can have what to show forth  for betterment of the society, so that an ordinary can boast of it{democracy} in provision of good amenities, and not by fundamental human rights alone but conveniences so that the masses will not be living  as slaves while they are still free  for the sake of posterity..
Happy Democracy day!
