Going back to the maxim of the sages which infers that " you feel disappointed to see foolishness where you are expecting wisdom".

Truly, Obafemi Awolowo University is a renowned school in the Nigeria with notable alumni and the martyrs who have laid down lives for emancipation on the field of struggle,  those who selflessly paid the price of victimisation ;  in order to correct the the anomalies of their time and to set a good pace for the assumed responsible generation to come.

What a  great expectations and foresight they had, unfortunately, they did not know that reverse was the case going to be , especially with the level at which things have degenerated today .

Although, I was not surprised when I  heard that students Union activities of Obafemi Awolowo University have been suspended by the university management, because I knew that was going to happen due to the fact that the Union leaders have taken their precious time to write the letter of invitation to the management , by virtue of their irresponsibilities and mediocrities which are not supposed to be heard about in this century!

The whole desolation started with the impeached president tyranny even before he was sworn in , that moment he was beating his chest on another union officer saying " Do you know who I am,  beat him up " (I am so sure AY SUG case can not be forgotten),  to the "hitleric" invasion of Angola hall bonfire.

I can not but remember the first Congress he would ever call which he actually "doctored " with the noise this Congress must continue before he absconded (that later became his usual modus operadi though) , what then should we say about his attempt to suspend the speaker with one submission in the Congress of over two hundred people , what of our red bus saga, ( 3.5 million!)? Any many more descrepancies

I thought the the insanity was going to end on the President alone before I  discovered that some central executive Council members are good at combating especially with bottle and headbutting ( great Comrades) because of backlog meant for the students.

The reaction of their foolishness came from the national dailies, their ordeals became the talk of the town as they could not hide their constituted nuisances again, even to the extent of inviting suspected cultists to the campus with our controversial bus by the impeached president, although that later led to his impeachment which he could not take but to react on whatsapp ( even though he does not take whatsapp messages seriously)

Maybe it would have been fair a bit if they were responsible to the students who elected them, reverse was the case!  Why would they when all what they were after was the money not the responsibility, no wonder, they are  alleged of withdrawing money from students account while on impeachment and no rejoinder has come from them so far.

Sadly, here we are today: students Union Building has welded up, just like biblical Ichabod there is no more glory!, They have dwindled down the consciousness of students,  common protest they could not lead but they are very good with showing empty Aluta prowess in University of Ibadan.

Obviously the deed had been done, but I  will not hesitate to charge students up for greater task ahead especially on how to build up the desolated union,
It is high time students stood up  consciously for themselves to resuscitate the "espirit De corps" of proper unionism, not of mediocrity and insensitivity, without selfishness but with that of  good comrades ready to pick up the stampeded union to her previous glory land
