Youth can't rule without students union - Timi Olagunju

A renowned Lawyer and former union leader of University of Ibadan Mr Timi Olagunju has disparaged the popular "not too young to rule in the country" as he claimed it is not feasible without  the function and activeness of students union in many universities.

He emphasised this in the Leader -shift conference organised by the equity chamber of faculty of law in Oduduwa hall, Obafemi Awolowo University on Tuesday 12th June, 2018.

While talking on the topic " the role of young Nigerians in building a new Nigeria,
he said " how can we say  youth want to rule when we don't have students union in many universities?  Youths need to act now. "

It will be recalled that some  notable universities students union like Obafemi Awolowo University,  University of Ibadan,  University of Lagos and the likes have been suspended,  which has created sudden halt in  student unionism on those  campuses.

Although, the students of those schools have been clamouring for the restatement of students union.

OAU SU president impeached!

The parliamentarians of Obafemi Awolowo University have impeached the President of the students union Oyekan Ibukun Edward in their parliamentary sitting which held today Saturday 4th November , 2017. The impeachment motions was said to be moved by two honorables before they later voted, in which the result of the vote validated the impeachment of the President with 37 votes out 51 honorables present in the parliamentary sitting. According to the clerk of the house Iyiola Oluwatosin Damilare in his press release regarding the President 's impeachment, which says "the President was impeached because he used the students' union bus to convene cultists  to campus on November 1st 2017 to threaten the peace of the peace of Obafemi Awolowo University community just to defend his Adolf Hitler manner.
