VOICE OF OAU a scam by Bernard Samuel
*"VOICE OF OAU " a Scam*
Revolutionary greetings to the ever gallant and ever progressive great Ife students. Those who are taking concerted effort to ensure that great Ife restamp its spot in the comity of Union as the voice of the voiceless, the hand of the hand less and the defendant of powerless. (Now a ghost of it past)
It was a sadden story, waking up to the ugly drama at Oduduwa hall yesterday night as the organizers of one show tagged "VOICE of OAU" played dirty to defraud students off their money.
It should be recalled that a massive awareness about an upcoming show which was scheduled to hold on the 27th of October 2017 @Oduduwa hall tagged as "VOICE of OAU" with guest artists of the likes of Young Six, Orezi, Efe and even the reggae blues cronner Harry Song, this awareness in law constituting and Invitation to treat or better put Invitation to contract, and then mass of great Ife students relying on that contracted to attend the show.
It was however a turn of event when after students paying 500 naira each for the show. (an amount that is even anti students, that a clear headed Union should stand against as such extortion should not be welcomed) did not end up enjoying what they paid for, as they were all defrauded with the absence of the invited artists.
The terms of the contract between the organizers and the students that attended were clear,
_"that the show will come up on the said day at a said venue, aimed at a said event and with attendance some said individual._. (the last being a contract to person) Therefore a negation of the above constitute a breach of contract. _Carlil v Carbolic smoke ball._
It should be noted that such scam is becoming hackneyed trend on campus, as organizers of shows do not meet up with their terms, examples like that Mr/Mrs Fresher 2015 and 2016 organized by Hot Inc, and most recently OAU got Talent by 78a media that took place on the 9th of August with Lil Kesh as the Guest Artist, as one miss Crownwell who is said to be the winner of the event with a whooping sum of 250 000 naira has not been paid, to mention among others.
I thereby implore the necessary agency to investigate into the matter, and necessary measures be taken, as such act is criminal in nature *S419 CCA*
