FASA Election Suspended.

By Oludiran Olusola The Faculty of Arts Students Association election has been declared suspended after the hot protest by the electorates  against the electioneering process. The election was declared Suspended  by the electoral committee chairman of the faculty David Olanrewaju around 2pm on 20st December  ,2018  after  a lot of complaints have been wired against the electoral committee that it deprived  many eligible electorates from exercise  their franchise right as most of the voters from linguistics and African languages  could not find their names on the list which validated them to vote. OAU Management and ASUU disagree over the strike action.

By Oludiran Olusola and Olaleye Oluwasola The management of Obafemi Awolowo University has reacted to the declaration of strike by the Academics Staff Union of Universities Obafemi Awolowo University chapter that the students should continue with their academics activities on campus. The management made this affirmation in the official release signed by the registrar of the school Mrs M I Omosule on Tuesday 6th November, 2018 stating that "academic session is very much on course. As there are no plans to compel students to vacate the campus until the end of the year holidays. The action was meted out to the concerned executive members at the parliamentary sitting which held on Thursday 30th October, 2018 . The concerned executive members who were suspended for two weeks include The President of the Association Ayodeji Isaiah, The vice President Oni Adeola,  The Treasurer Oke Ademola and The Director of Socials Lawal Idris  and The General Secretary Ajifowoke Olamide  for their refusal to make themselves available for the parliamentary sitting which they were invited to, due to that they were instructed to avail themselves for investigation on how the financial matters of the association is being run with the threat to have their eportal page blocked through the Division of students Affairs if they fail to adhere to the given order. OAU law progressive condemns Journalists victimization.

By Oludiran Olusola The  management of Obafemi Awolowo University has reacted to the recent non accreditation of some courses in the school for the programme session of 2018/2019 which has caused a lot of confusion to the students and aspirants who are anticipating to study  them. The response was confirmed in the special release by the management of the school on Monday 6th, August 2018 , according to the release in which the management of the school confirms its  awareness of the latest burning issues of non accreditation of some courses like Law,  Botany,  Dentistry, Family Nutrition and Fine and applied art. According to the statement which states that "There are 106 programmes in the University of which the five mentioned above have issues with accreditation. Although all these programmes actually had interim status during the last exercise, they were denied accreditation because of the existing NUC regulation which does not allow for back to back interi...

Students, Residents of Ife deterred of movement because of flood.

Oludiran Olusola It was a bad Sunday for the residents of Ile Ife both the students of Obafemi Awolowo University and the indigenes of the town as massive flood deterred most people from gaining access to their houses while some could not sleep in their different destinations because of the overwhelming flood which almost took over the whole town. 411 Saga- OAU dimisses Professor Akindele

The Obafemi Awolowo University has sacked Professor Akindele from the department Management and Accounting who allegedly requested for sex in exchange for mark from a female student Monica Osagie. His dismissal was validated by the Management of the school through the press release signed by the vice chancellor of the school Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede on Wednesday 20th June 2018. OAU students escape rape as their was burgled

Some students of Obafemi Awolowo University escaped attack and rape as they had their rooms burgled by some unknown gangs  on Tuesday 12th June, 2018 around 3am in the night at AP in Modakeke Ile Ife. The concerned students, Ebunoluwa and  Tosin  who are freshers from the departments of Local Government studies and Zoology who respectively were sleeping when the attack occurred, in which their room door was forced to open by some unknown guys who made attempts to rape them. A renowned Lawyer and former union leader of University of Ibadan Mr Timi Olagunju has disparaged the popular "not too young to rule in the country" as he claimed it is not feasible without  the function and activeness of students union in many universities. Campus Editors Hold Summit In Grand Style The National Association of Nigerian Campus Editors held her annual campus editors summit between 26th and 28th of April, 2018 at Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa. OAU FASA speaker -elect 's election nullified.

The Faculty of Arts students Association representative council has nullified the election of the leadership of the house and declared speaker- elect  and the deputy speaker -elect of the association Comrade Akin Adeleke and Mr Tobi respectively impeached on 15th February, 2018. The impeachment verdict of the house was made due to the letter of petition against his emergence as the speaker of the house written by Mr Oladebo Idris Akinwale who was a candidate against Comrade Akin,  alleging both the electoral committee and the screening procedures which brought him as violations of constitution. OAU students experience water scarcity

The students  of Obafemi Awolowo University is currently facing the predicament of inflow and outflow of water,  even in the midst examinations. The water Scarcity which in the school has been partially begun since Sunday February 4th 2017, and now It became general phenomenon in halls of residence in which some residents of hostels like Awolowo hall of residence, Angola hall of residence and mozambique halls are left with no option to remain dirty and unable to cook. In series of interviews our correspondents had with different students from some halls of residence, it was discovered that the current situation has left many  students to remain dirty, or not being able to cook while some have resolved to fetching water from the stream, while some stick being on queue with their containers in order to fetch water which seems not to be forth coming.
